#MIHBlog - Sexy Location - Shotgun Starfish

Shotgun Starfish

There are no good places to have sex in Central Park. It’s sad but true. I mean, it’s not like I flew from Toronto to New York with the intent or desire to have a romp in the park, but when your boyfriend surprises you with the seemingly casual suggestion of picking out an engagement ring at Tiffany’s on 5th, “since we’re already in the store” (as if he hadn’t been planning this for months) and then follows that up with an official, super sappy, down-on-one-knee proposal in Central Park, it kinda makes you want to rip his clothes off in the nearest semi-secluded spot you can find. In fact, if it weren’t for the ridiculously overpriced rock burning a hole in my pocket, this situation might have made me down right grumpy.

“Okay, we’ve been biking for three hours. We’ve seen Alice in Wonderland, Strawberry fields and Jackie Kennedy’s giant water reserve but we haven’t seen a single decent spot for a quickie.”

“Is that what we were looking for? Why don’t we just go back to the hotel?”

“Fine, we’ll go back to the boring hotel. But I call shotgun starfish.”

“Shotgun Starfish? I just proposed.”

“You proposed three whole hours ago. If you wanted to call starfish, you should’ve taken me straight back to the hotel instead of letting me tire myself out with all the biking. Besides, I called it.”

“Okay, I’ll accept that there was a tactical error on my part. But I get starfish after dinner.”

“You can’t call shotgun starfish on future sex, only right now sex. Sex that we have both agreed is happening as soon as we get to our destination. Come on now; don’t act like you don’t know the rules.”

“Are we having our first fight as an engaged couple – over who has to be on top?”

“It depends? Are you trying to shotgun starfish future sex?”

“Alright, I give up! Let’s just get back to the hotel and have a quickie before dinner. This whole argument will be moo once we get there anyway.”

“Okay, Joey Tribbiani.”

After checking with the concierge about an early morning yoga class, I joined my boyfriend fiancé in our hotel room. Like a moth to flame, I immediately floated toward a surprising new focal point to the room – no, the focal point was not my fiancé; it was booze.

“Is that champagne on ice? Wait. Is that my favourite champagne on ice?” I noticed a Tiffany box beside the champagne bucket. “What the hell?” I checked my pocket to find my little blue box still in it. “What’s this?”

“I knew they weren’t going to be able to size the ring until we got back to Toronto so I thought you might want to wear it around your neck until we’re home.”

“Wow, you thought of everything didn’t you? When did you get this?”

“When they were polishing the ring you picked out.”

“I think you should get naked right now…and yeah, I officially waive my starfish rights for the remainder of the vacation.”

“See? Argument moo, like a cow’s opinion.”

“Stop gloating…This necklace is fucking beautiful.”

“You’re fucking beautiful. In fact, I waive my rights to shotgun starfish for the rest of this vacation, too.”

“Agreed. From this point forward we go at it like drunken teenagers in an open field.”

“So our usual then.”

“Yup, why mess with a good thing.”

Folks, outdoor sex obviously did not happen for me on my NYC vacation. That’s the problem with real life, I guess. Luckily, I get to live vicariously through my characters. So if you want to read a sexy little short with smoking hot sex in an inappropriate place, pick up The Wedding, which I wrote well before I had my own impending nuptials on my mind.

The Wedding

Karen is not the type to attend a wedding with a guy she’s only slept with once but, in a rare display of empathy, she agrees to accompany her new landlord Allen to this sure-to-be-boring function. Fortunately, Karen knows how to have a good time, and she’s pretty sure she and Allen can make their own fun...even if they have to do it in the outdoors just steps away from a couple hundred stuffy wedding guests.

D.C. McMillen enjoys writing about dirty sex in questionable places but has been known to write about other subjects, on special occasions. She is featured in MuseItHot’s Short & Spicy line up with The Rental, The Wedding and A Decent December. D.C.’s short stories and flash fiction can be found in several anthologies and other print and online publications. She is obsessed with Twitter and invites you to look her up at @mcmillendc, on her blog, or Facebook.

#MIHBlog - Jairo's Craziest Location (Twin Flames Series Super-Star)

Jairo’s Craziest Location

Did you know writers get sidetracked easily? Yeah, they do, at least mine does. And often!

Hi, I’m Jairo, Alix Richards’ hero. I know that sounded…strange, but that’s the title she gave me. Now, my mate—Joy—has told me to behave and I agreed, of course…to a point. *smirk* I mean, this is a HOT blog after all, right?

I noticed while roaming through Alix’s computer (which I do often since she grounded me for getting lost at a Muse Christmas party a couple years ago) and found something very interesting. Something she was supposed to post and, sadly, didn’t. Then again, that’s Alix for you. She writes many pieces then decides which one is best. Gods love her. I know I do. Sorry, Joy. *blushes*

Craziest location, huh? The balcony of an apartment building in NYC, against the wall outside? It’s a scene I wanted Alix to use and she didn’t. *chuckle* Although, I’m sure it’ll be recycled into another story, as that’s another adoring trait writers have. I, of course, am assuming. *grin*

I’m not talking about a huge balcony, just one large enough for a couple chairs and foot area. You don’t want people looking, at the same time, you do. *wink* Subtly, of course. While Joy and I were unaware of each other, I fantasized about the two of us sitting on my Manhattan balcony talking. One thing led to another and I had her in my arms pressed up against the brick façade. From my back, anyone looking wouldn’t know we were making love. I had my jeans on and she was wearing my shirt, perfectly decent in my opinion.

There are just times when I can’t keep my hands (and body) from Joy, that was one of them. I wanted her so badly we didn’t make it past the door. I did try of course. Kudos for the attempt. *smirk* I didn’t care if anyone was watching, if they were so inclined to gawk so be it, I’d give them a show.

Pretty crazy location, huh? Normally I’m not an exhibitionist, when it comes to my baby, I honestly don’t care where we are or if anyone is watching. Beach, dressing rooms, kitchen, you name it I’m sure we’ve tried it out. What’s your craziest location?

About Alix Richards: First a storyteller, Alix Richards didn’t get around to recording her stories on paper until she was ten. The creative worlds grew with time and experience in her imagination. Finding her own ‘twin flame’ inspired her to look again at those worlds and characters she’d set aside when life demanded her full attention.

Between plotting, chatting writer friends off their balconies, love stories and meeting new people, Alix spends time with her family and friends, happy to share her real life with the ones who mean the most to her. She’s friendly, stubborn and outspoken but still enjoys laughing and crying while reading a good book. She’s a romantic with a harsh realistic twist, because some things just don’t happen in everyday life. However, it doesn’t stop her from believing anything is possible.

#MIHBlog ~ Danielle Ravencraft's Steamy Trace Series -n- a Shakin' Up Message

Hi Everybody;) We’re going to be doing something a little different next month here at #MIHBlog. Shaking things up a bit around here, we’ll bring you more variety in posts…exciting, fun, wild, interesting, sexy, and a whole lot more. Some great stuff for readers who love sizzling hot stories and some things for authors, tooJ  We’ll be looking to our MIH authors for posts…and anything goes for themesJ

Which brings me around to this post and what I have going on…let me introduce you to ~ A Trace of Love and A Trace of Passion;) Two stories written by my wonderful friend, colleague, Muse and Ravencraft sista, Danielle Ravencraft.

I had the pleasure of reading Trace and Ophelia’s stories a while back and wrote up a book review on both that I’d like to share with you. There’s something about the realism in these stories that grabbed me…maybe in some way it resonated a bit of my life from a time past (like a much younger time - *grins*). Their story drew me in and didn't shake me away…as I patiently await the rest of their story… *hint, hint*

A Trace of Love – Book Review

Author: Danielle Ravencraft

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Publisher: Muse It Hot Publishing

First Line: Ophelia sat in her favorite spot in the entire world; the little bar in the very back of The House of Blues.

Ophelia, a loner, writhing with low self-esteem, but a beauty in her own way, loves to hang out at The House of Blues.

Trace Curtis, born as Matthew Curtis and unbeknown to him is Ophelia’s forever heart-throb, plays lead in the Molten Silk band.

They discover each other in an evening of bliss – for Ophelia it’s a longtime crush consummated, for Trace it’s something he’d never known with another woman.
Ophelia knows there will be no relationship beyond that night, but Trace believes different. Ophelia wants to believe, but reality smites her away.

Is it possible, love at first sight? According to Ophelia not in the real world…or can it?

Miss Ravencraft pulls a longtime crush to the forefront, holding Ophelia and Trace to a one-night-stand and the realities that go along with a hunky traveling band member and a shy hometown girl.

Miss Ravencraft writes sensual and real, leading her reader into the thralls of Ophelia and Trace’s rocky relationship. She also binds the threads to her next book, A Trace of Passion.

This sexy, short story promises more to come, passion with a bite of reality. Good read!

A Trace of Passion – Book Review

Author: Danielle Ravencraft

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Publisher: Muse It Hot Publishing

First Line: Ophelia rushed into the first stall.

Ophelia Martinez, star of Trace of Love, returns in Trace of Passion. Eleven months, twenty-four days, six hours and eleven minutes later and still she holds tight to the reasons NOT to contact the love of her life.

Trace Curtis, blue-eyed, dark-haired wonder and lead singer of rock band Molten-Silk, died a little last time he sang at The House of Blues. Now he’s back and expecting answers from the woman who broke her promise and his heart.

What happens when their two worlds collide at a rock concert? There’s only so much a person can avoid, right?

Ms. Ravencraft’s Trace of Love hooked me to her story stars, but Trace of Passion locked me in a room with them. She’s created impressive strong emotional characters, each unique in their realism. I crave reading tight, clear prose that carries me away within a romance and Ms. Ravencraft delivers.

I’m looking forward to the next in her series ~ Trace of Hope…I’m not quite finished with Ophelia and Trace’s story. Highly recommended read.

#MIHBlog - Wild & Crazy Locations for Steamy Scenes

Wild and crazy locations…sometimes a romance has a lot to do with “where” it all takes place. I’d like to spend some time showing off a few Muse It Hot stories because of “where” they take place…this will be fun :) I’ll concentrate on modes of travel because they are so…out of my every day norm at home stuff, sort of like an adventure before the adventure :) And hopefully, it ends in an amazing experience.

Let’s start our tour with the bathroom (I always have to visit one  before I take a trip)…and not just any of those kind of rooms, but an Enchanted Bathroom, a chance meeting, and a whole lot of fireworks…

Sandy Warner finds more than she bargained for in the Three Lillies bathroom. Overcome by the moans and groans from the couple in the next stall, she begins to fantasize a hunk obeying her every wish.

Richard Leere didn’t expect to find the woman of his dreams flustered in his restaurant. After a surprise grab to his groin, he smiles.

Sandy, unsure if the man before her is real or her imaginary hunk, steps back. After an embarressing moment, she now must decide if she should make a move while the smile is plastered on his face, or apologize and walk out with her dignity.

Okay…so let’s move on to traveling by train *grins* Oh, my…this story is definitely hot as iron wheels (or are they steel?) roll or skate across those iron rails, hear the clink, clink, clink, feel the rocking and swaying, it’s Lovers on a Train

Back Cover:

He’s 50, divorced, burned out, and moving south to start a new life.

She’s 72, twice widowed, and travelling south to escape the cold and to live with her daughter.

An unlikely pair to become Lovers on a Train.

So, how else can we travel? Hey, how about a cruise ship…maybe on a One Plus One singles cruise ship. Ooo-la-la…extra sexy for fun in the sun…

Back Cover:

Coerced by her friend, Lacinda, a woman crushed by love, winds up on a three week singles cruise.

Blade, a man of means, discovers Miss Right under the guise of a singles cruise set up by his business partner.

Once Blade focuses his efforts he always gets what he’s after, until Lacinda throws his arrogant reputation back in his face.

Can Blade break through Lacinda’s angry barriers? Will she ever see him as anything more than a player?

When I think of fun in the sun, I think of isolated beaches where anything goes…because there’s no one around, so why not get a full body tan, and if someone happens by while you’re dressed in your birthday suite??? Then we’d call it, Pleasure Beach

Back Cover:

Enjoying a rare day off work from the hospital, Chrissy sunbathes at a secluded beach, soaking in the day’s warmth.

Slumbering throughout a quiet afternoon, free of pesky tan lines, Chrissy wakes from a nap to discover Gabe, a sexy, wet, and hunky marine-biologist washed ashore only a few feet away from her topless body.

Something in Gabe’s eyes melts her inhibitions even as she scrambles for her bikini top. Before long, Chrissy realizes there’s a whole lot more than just warm sun to stimulate her senses.

I know…I’m not really ready to end the tour – there are SO many more places (stories) to show off…but time and space rule :( However, I’d really love to end the tour somewhere special…maybe a hot tub experience and a clink of champagne glasses for a sweet ending, like a Champagne Afternoon

Click Cover to learn more

On a dare she finds herself here at a nudist camp, hovering inside the shower, praying the floor will open up before the water turns to ice and she has no choice but walk across that cavernous floor-to-ceiling windowed room and climb into the Olympic sized hot tub.

The idea is frightening enough when she believes she had this portion of the nudist camp all to herself, but the Fates stepped in and the other shower ran, turned off, letting her hear the slapping steps of another bather making the water churn upon entry out there to see all her insecurities.

Run! She needed to run. But she would never be able to live with herself if she turned coward after the four long hours it took to drive her.

It’s now or never!

Hope you all enjoyed the tour…maybe we can do this again soon, after all, there’s a whole lot of story in our Muse It Hot stories and I love showing them offJ

You got a location where you’d like to have a romantic adventure? Do tell *grins* I’m all ears!

Naked Truth Interview: Get the Down and Dirty on Kat Holmes #MIHBlog #Erotic #Romance #Vampires

After a short hiatus, I am back with another chance to get to know one of our Muse It Hot authors a bit better. This week, I have finagled the fantastic, Kat Holmes into the hot seat. Let's see what new and exciting things we can learn about Kat this morning *grins*

Bex: I'll start with a few softballs to get things warmed up. When did you first start writing? What made you want to be a writer?

Kat: I began writing when I was a kid. I just enjoyed creating worlds in my head. As for writing professionally, I owe that to fellow author and dear fried N.J. Walters who encouraged and inspired me to try.

Bex: What inspired you to write Seeker? Is there an interesting story behind it?

Kat: Seeker is book two in my Hekate’s Web series. I knew when I wrote Hidden, the 1st book that Seeker would be next.

Bex: This is one of my favorite questions. Are you a pantser or a plotter?

Kat: Pantser. I don’t plot beyond basic info such as character names. And outlines and I are not on friendly terms. J

Bex: A girl after my own heart. Do you have any writing rituals or special processes you complete before sitting down to write?

Kat: Not really. I’m epileptic so it often comes down to when I am physically up to writing. I have periods where I crank stuff out and then there are stretches where my head just doesn’t let me focus on anything, least of all writing.

Bex: What authors inspire you?

Kat: N.J. Walters is numero uno. She is my writing goddess as well as a dear friend whom I cherish. Beyond that there are just too many to name.

Bex: If you could only write in one genre for the rest of your career, what genre would you choose? Why?

Kat: Oh god I could never limit myself. My muse would abandon me. J

Bex: Are any of your characters modeled after real people?  If so, which ones?

Kat: Yes and I am not telling. <grin>

Bex: What is the one thing about the book publishing process that has surprised you the most?

Kat: How much work the author has to do. People think once we write the book and its been contracted the rest of the work falls on the pub house but not so. A lot of promotion, marketing and editing is done by the author.

Bex: Tell us one thing it would surprise us to know about you?

Kat: I still watch cartoons even though I’m 37. I love Scooby Doo.

Bex: I am a Spongebob girl myself, but I am with you on the cartoons. What is next for you? Any new stories in the pipeline to tell us about?

Kat: I have the start of a new comedy fairy tale series in the hands of my publisher. Keep your fingers crossed.

Bex: Do you have any unique skills or talents? If so, what?

Kat: Um, not sure what you mean. I taught myself sign language when I was a kid. Does that count?

Bex: I would say that counts, sure! Tell us something about your current release we won’t find in the back cover blurb?

Kat: I can’t. It would spoil a major surprise. But I can give you one tidbit. A secondary character dies a really gruesome death.

Bex: oOo death.... very cool! And gruesome, too. Going to have to move this one up on my TBR list. Now, to a very serious question...If you were only allowed to eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Kat: Chocolate cake hands down.

Bex: If you were taken and placed on a deserted island, and were allowed one other human being to spend your life with you on that island, who would you choose?

Kat: My Mom. She’s my best friend in the whole world.

Bex: That is so sweet.... (odd segway, but) Zombies or Vampires?

Kat: Vampires. They are just so sexy and of course Seeker is about vampires. J

Bex: What made you decide to write erotic romance?

Kat: Simple, I love romance and I think every romance should have hot stuff. If your significant other doesn’t flick your switch, so to speak, your relationship won’t last long. Let’s face it, sex is not the end all and be all of a relationship, but it still plays an important role.

Bex: What is the one material item you absolutely couldn’t live without if you were stranded on a deserted island?

Kat: Toilet paper. I am not into using a friendly leaf.

Bex: That may be about the best answer I have had to that question so far. Thanks so much for being such a sport and hanging out with me today.

Let's take a look at Kat's latest MuseItHot release, HIDDEN, the first book in Kat's Hekate's Web series.

#MIHBlog - Sexy Scenes or No Sexy Scenes? by Suzannah Safi

Sexy scenes or no sexy scenes?

Some readers love to read the hot sexy scenes in romance and some prefer it sweet romance. Personally, I love hot romance stories that has a well-developed love scene or well developed romantic scene. As a reader and author, I immediately spot the author who is not comfortable writing hot scenes and for me to read those undeveloped scenes is like experiencing a root-canal surgery. I believe writing a hot scene does not have to mean that ALWAYS a detailed scene with lovemaking, sometimes writing a scene with a kiss can deliver a whole lot of emotions. Today, I picked a sexy scene, can I write simple kiss? No. So, get ready I will leave you with a tantalizing scene form my new published paranormal romance novella

To all fang lovers enjoy this ride!

Silver cold eyes stared into the core of her soul, his face hard and motionless.

She twisted in his arms. “No, please, let me—” With one fast flip he swung her, back slamming into the wall of his chest, power and strength surrounding her.

He secured her hands with one of his. She froze, tensed at the pain she expected after watching what the other woman went through. Closing her eyes, she heard everyone in the party room cheer for Draven as though winning his noble prize for the day.

His tight grip on her body made her attempts to escape impossible. He pushed her hair with attentive care away from her neck. Her body shivered as one of his fingers slid along her carotid artery sending spurts of adrenaline course through her veins.

Jewel winced as his soft tongue licked the place where his finger trailed. Then his two sharp fangs tickled the soft spot on her neck before a stinging piercing shot to her brain. Trapped in his strong arms, she stiffened as he sucked her blood.
His muscles and grip tightened as her legs collapsed.

He went down with her, supporting her in his lap. A growl rumbled in his throat, his massive body stiffening behind her shuddering body. Heat radiated from him, and his breathing quickened. The pain eased and something eliciting seeped into her senses—a sweet, strange sensation.

She wanted to turn but her body wouldn’t budge. She wanted him, wanted his lips all over her. Was she hallucinating because of the pain, the panic that claimed her? No, something else claimed her body and drove her to the edge, improper things she wanted to do to this man and she couldn’t help but surrender to the sweet sensation.

Warm fluid rushed between her legs. She licked her dry lips and fought for more air as her heart raced. Arching her back, she rested the back of her head against his broad shoulder. His palm caught her breast and he squeezed. Hard pulse of his arousal nudged the side of her buttocks. A tantalizing notion claimed her mound and gradually vibrated to the core of her vagina. She cried as a blinding, pulsing moment of release hit her in a series of waves.

He withdrew his fangs out of her flesh and licked the puncture wounds, taking his time, or aiming for every drop of her blood. His breathing calmed, hers didn’t.

Wanting to sleep and collapse, he pulled her up with him and looked at her, but directing his words to Lykourgos. “She is innocent,” he said, his voice padded with weakness and agony.

She locked her gaze with his. Hazy and blurry the image of his massive body swayed in front of her eyes. Fatigue won over, her legs wobbled beneath her and before she hit the floor, his arms claimed her, and the purple lights became darker and darker.

Suzannah Safi Bio
I started reading romance novels gazillion years ago. Not far back, precisely, seven years ago, I started writing and never stopped and became a multi-published author. I sometimes wonder if I can breathe without writing.

For many years, I worked with numbers, finance, and credit. But eventually my addiction to writing took over. I visited many exotic places and met many interesting people. The stories they share with me about themselves I tend to spice them up with creative fiction twists, and the end result is a story nagging at my brain to write it and let my readers enjoy the tale. Romance is the base of my writing, but I add sub-genres to spice my romance stories.
