Hot & Bothered Thursday with Anne Stenhouse ~ #MuseItHot

Good morning everyone! Hope you’re ready for another Hot & Bothered 7. Today we have the love Anne Stenhouse here with 7 sentences from her book, Mariah’s Marriage, a historical romance set in 19th century London.

“I think the young lady probably uses different methods to achieve her ends, and besides,” the man said with a smile in his voice that matched the twinkle in his brown eyes, “it was ever the case that the young male would escape as quickly as possible from confinement in a classroom. Even when the lessons were presided over with such grace.” He bowed.
Mariah felt a warm blush stain her cheeks. This man was flirting with her. How had she allowed herself to become an object of gallantry? “Peter, I think Papa will wonder why we are late,” she said, and with a swift nod in the direction of her tormentor, turned away.
